If you feel like you don't have enough time this week!

Hi everyone, it's me Kirsteen for some Monday motivation.

Feeling like you don't have enough time

And it's also it's been my focus all week. And it's also something that's been very needed with many of my clients this week when we are busy, and that's how I've been this week because I've had a week off and you know what it's like when you have a week off. You come back to double the workload.

When you're busy. It's very easy to be stuck in your head. And quite often we can be telling ourselves stories about how much we have to do and how we don't have enough time. And that all creates this scarcity feeling and it can create stress and anxiety in our body. Because we start to believe that story that we don't have enough time, and then we're not really fully present. We're not bringing our best what it is we're trying to do.

Presence is such an important thing. It's one of the things that I can put it written all around my office because it's one of the things that I have to keep reminding myself of, otherwise I'm very busy and in my head.

shift from being in your head into being present

So how do you shift from being in your head into being present and in your body?

Being in your body is part of being present because you've become far more aware of what's going on rather than with your brain, where you're thinking about what's next, what's next? What am I going to do, and you're not really fully present in the conversation that you're having or the work that you're doing? So becoming present is a really powerful thing for you to be able to shift into.

How do you do it?

You can drop your attention into your body, and that means that you've got to stop. You've got to be still, you've got to focus on your body. You can do it by either focusing on your guts or focusing on your heart and just paying attention and trying to steal your mind.

The other thing that you can do is to which might be easier is to focus on your senses. So again, stop and think about what can I see, what can I hear? What can I taste? What can I touch and what can I smell and when you do that you awaken your senses, because quite often we're not using all of them. Maybe not even more than two of them. So you awaken your senses and you become more present.

My invitation to you this week

So my invitation to you this week is when you spot yourself in your head, and you might even be in a loop of I've got so much to do. I don't know how I'm going to fit it all in and you might be writing your week off before you even started it. If you find yourself in that place switch into being present. So even drop your attention into your body and try and turn your mind off or ground yourself in the five senses and start to just stop and ask yourself:

  • what can you see what can you smell?
  • What can you taste? What can you hear?
  • What can you feel

Just take five minutes out to become fully present and see what difference that makes because when you slow down, you actually get more done. I know this and I didn't believe it for a long time but I believe it now because that is my experience rather than running around like a total lunatic.... slowdown...... be present. And you will bring much better thought and quality of work out what it is you're trying to do. And for the people that are talking to you. You might actually hear what they're saying which is hugely important.

So I'll leave that with you have a brilliant week. I'd love to know what you've come up with. And I'll speak to you all soon.

Take care

Kirsteen
