Welcome to your Confidence Catalyst Newsletter Helping you speak up, step up, and stand out.

As we move into the final stretch of the year, I hear the same thing again and again:

“I’m overwhelmed.”

“There’s so much to do.”

“I’m already behind.”

It’s that familiar pressure to wrap things up, finish strong, and somehow make the last weeks perfect.

Let me remind you of something important:

Not everything needs your attention. And not everything needs to be done perfectly.

Let’s look at this through our three lenses: mindset, behaviour, and compassion.

Mindset: Not everything deserves your energy

Overwhelm usually isn’t caused by doing the things that matter. It’s caused by trying to do it all.

When everything feels urgent, nothing is clear.

Here’s the reframe: Instead of asking “What else do I need to do?”, ask:

  • What truly matters right now?
  • What creates the impact I have set out to create?
  • What can wait, be simplified, or be dropped altogether?

You don’t have to finish the month or year perfectly.

Instead, choose to finish it intentionally.

Behaviour: Ditch the to-do list. Work from priorities that are loaded into your calendar.

For a moment, forget the endless to-do list.

Instead, try this approach:

  1. Check your capacity Be honest. How much energy, time, and focus do you really have? Not on a perfect day. On a real one.
  2. Choose 1–3 true priorities Not 10. Not 7. Just the few things that will make the biggest difference.
  3. Ask for help Support is a strategy, not a weakness. What can you delegate, delay, or do together with someone else?
  4. Find the ‘easy button’ Where are you overcomplicating things? What could be simpler, quicker, or “good enough”?

Let’s not focus on doing more. Let’s focus on what matters most.

Compassion: Appreciate yourself for what you ARE doing

It is so easy to focus on the undone tasks, unfinished projects, and unmet goals.

But pause for a moment and consider:

  • Everything you have handled
  • Everything you have shown up for
  • Everything you are juggling right now

You are doing a lot. You are carrying a lot. And you are still going.

That deserves recognition.

So instead of criticising yourself for what isn’t complete, try asking:

“What have I done well this month?” “Where have I shown courage, growth, or consistency?”

Self-compassion fuels momentum far more than self-criticism ever will.

Now, take action

This week, try this simple 10-minute reset:

  • Write down everything that’s on your mind
  • Circle the top 3 priorities only
  • Cross out (yes, really cross out) at least 3 things that don’t actually matter or can wait.

Then ask yourself: Where can I ask for support? Where can I choose ‘done’ over perfect?

You don’t need to do it all. You just need to do what matters most.

Have a great week,

Kirsteen
