2 things to spring forward in a growth mindset
Hi everyone, it's me Kirsteen with some Monday Motivation, and I am loving the sunshine and the feeling that spring is in the air. This makes me think about the fact that we do most of our planning as beginning of the year or at the end of the previous year, when things are quite dull and gloomy. And how this time of the year is really the best time to start thinking about other things you want to create in your life.
I always do my planning quarterly and probably you do too. Now is a really perfect time to think about anything that you've experienced this year so far, that you want to create something different or you want to change. Consider anything that's happened this year so far, that's creating unhelpful feelings. Just have a think about it, and think about what you would like to create instead and that can be your plan for the next quarter.
Thinking about what you want to create =shifting into a growth mindset
And one of the most important things when it comes to planning is having a growth mindset. Quite often, we can be in a fixed mindset, and that can be about ourselves, and our ability to achieve things. So the most important thing about having a growth mindset is making sure that you are thinking about yourself in a way that you can grow and achieve the things that you'd want to and that you're not stuck in a fixed mindset about yourself. So you might be thinking you’re really bad at something or it's impossible for you to do that. Those things are really unhelpful and they are absolutely a fixed mindset.
So when you're thinking about what you want to create, that's different it is shifting into a growth mindset means doing two things.
The first thing is a commitment to solving whatever it is. So make a decision that you're going to change whatever it is that needs to be changed. And then the second shift is being in a place of curiosity. So not allowing anything to close down. Being in a place where you are curious about how you might change something, what might be possible, how you might be able to do something different, who might be able to support you, What might your growth requirements be? And that's how you create the change that you want. So Spring is in the air. It's all about growth. It's all about regeneration. It's all about shifting into a mindset that's going to allow you to be your best self for the next quarter. So I hope you find that helpful. Let me know what you think and have a brilliant rest of the week.
Take care till next Monday
Kirsteen
